Hozaifa joins Han Santos as the firm’s first litigator, forming the Civil and Corporate Litigation practice group. A television producer-turned-lawyer, Hozaifa started off his legal career at the Seattle office of Davis Wright Tremaine LLP. He has served as a federal district court law clerk, worked as in-house general counsel, and practiced at litigation boutiques on both coasts.
Hozaifa’s representative matters include a broad range of civil and commercial disputes, including contracts, business torts, corporate governance, derivative actions, intellectual property, securities, real estate, defamation, and employment matters. Hozaifa regularly helps company executives navigate contentious business divorces, and he routinely counsels privately held companies on governance and risk-management issues.
Hozaifa also takes pride in devoting time to public interest matters and pro bono work. He has successfully represented asylum candidates in Immigration Court, advised non-profits, and provided amicus representation in a landmark education funding case before the Washington State Supreme Court.
Hozaifa appears in matters on both coasts, in particular the New York Tri-State and the Pacific Northwest (Seattle).
Hozaifa has been named a “Super Lawyer” (2019-2021) and “Rising Star” (2014-2018) for business litigation in Washington State by Thomson Reuters. He was also selected as a 2013 Fellow of the WSBA’s Washington Leadership Institute, which recognizes and trains the next generation of civic and bar leaders.
In law school, Hozaifa served as the Note & Comment Editor of the Law Review. He was inducted into the National Order of Barristers for oral advocacy and, upon graduation, named his class’s Faculty Scholar and Student Speaker.
